20 Last minute Mother’s Day ideas

I’m a mother and I am excited to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom! Every year I can do that is a blessing. But, as a mom I look forward to the creativity of my family to make all the thankless days (let’s be honest) worth enduring! The thing is, Mother’s Day doesn’t have to cost anything. As mom’s all we really want to feel is loved, appreciated and remembered, so here’s a list of things you can do with or for your mom to make her feel like the queen she is on this special day. . . oh, and you don’t only have to wait for Mother’s Day to use these ideas, they’re good year-round!

  1. Breakfast in bed
  2. Cook dinner
  3. Clean the house
  4. Do the laundry
  5. Make a card
  6. Draw a bath and give her uninterrupted quiet time
  7. Let her have a lazy day where she can do whatever she wants
  8. Write her a letter telling her how you feel about her
  9. Give her ‘year-round’ coupons for various things that she can use at any time
  10. Bake her a cake
  11. Frame her favorite photograph
  12. Give her a foot, hand or neck massage
  13. Sit and talk to her for more than just a few minutes (ask her how she is)
  14. Hugs and kisses (those are always great)
  15. Take her to the park
  16. Watch her favorite movie with her (without commentary)
  17. Give her a personal pampering session of her choice (hair, nails, facial etc.)
  18. Adapt a poem especially for her
  19. Let her sleep in
  20. Tell her you love her

I know some of these may seem obvious, but they are often overlooked and sometimes just the right thing to do or say to make your mom’s day. Trust me, I know. So if you forgot about Mother’s Day, try one and see what a hit it will be. You can thank me later! 😉
