How to crochet the Shallow Single Crochet Stitch

Welcome to “Tutorial Thursdays” where I’ll share videos on new crochet stitches, business action steps and full crochet projects. Tutorial Thursdays is also when I’ll answer some of the question I get on crochet via the Facebook page, the YouTube channel or the Twitter feed. This video is the first in our series and demonstrates how to crochet the Shallow Single Crochet stitch. It’s a crochet stitch I came across recently and thought would be great to share.

Most of us have had to use the Single Crochet stitch for various projects, but the shallow single crochet isn’t as popular. At least not to me, since I just heard about it a few weeks ago. It’s easy once you get the hang of where to place your crochet hook, and creates a very tight fabric you can use for a number of crochet projects.

I’d love to get your feedback on this posting. What do you think about this stitch? What type of project would you use it for?

“Hi! Just wanted to say that you did a GREAT job of explaining the HDC (half double crochet) edging for a single crochet blanket in your YouTube video. Thank you so much! God Bless” - Donna M.
